School Info

Children join the school as Year 3 pupils. Organisation varies according to the number of children in each year group. We aim to keep our class sizes as small as possible. In December of each year, parents of Year 2 children will receive the Schools in Suffolk booklet, a proforma letter indicating their catchment school, a school catchment prospectus, and a CAFI form. Advice about applying for a school place is contained in the booklet. Your completed CAFI form needs to be returned to your child's current school by the closing date.

Early in the Summer Term there is an Open Day which parents are invited to attend along with their child. Towards the end of their Year 2 in the Infant School, children are given opportunities to meet their new teachers. The Junior School teachers make visits to the Year 2 children in the Infant School and the children are also invited to meet their new teachers in their new classrooms. A transfer project is begun in the Infant school and continued in September in the Junior school. A meeting is arranged for parents of new children in July when they are given the opportunity to meet the Headteacher and staff. This enables parents to ask questions and gain information about the sorts of activities the children will be engaged in.

There is an Open Morning for all parents of Year 3 children in the early part of the new school year which enables pupils and parents to share in some of the class work which the children have been undertaking.
