Year 6

During Autumn term year 6 children have been studying Ancient Egypt. They have made many Egyptian artefacts and these have enabled them to create an Ancient Egyptian museum. The museum displayed a lot of the children's work and they took on the role of tour guides when showing their parents round.

This picture shows Egyptian pyramids. When you open the lid you can find a sarcophagus. Also displayed are Canopic jars where the liver, lungs, stomach and intestine of the dead people were stored.

The above shows clay models of Ancient Egyptian homes. These homes were lived in by the poor and if you lift the roof you can see the limited amount of belongings they has.

This is a 3-D map of the River Nile. The river was very important to the Ancient Egptians as it provided a means of transport as well as a source of irrigation for their crops.

We used milk bottles to create our own Death Masks. We looked closely at Tutankhamuns and then designed our own.

These Shadufs were used by the Egyptians to gather water from the Nile to irrigate the crops.

In Literacy we studied non-chronological reports and wrote our own reports on Mummification and the Afterlife.
